The Camp: A National Medal of Arts recipient and a global destination for artists and arts enthusiasts, this organization has offered immersive arts experiences since 1928. They bring together summer camp programs, fine arts high school studies, adult artistic programs, radio programs, more than 600 arts presentations annually, world renowned guest artists and more!
The Position: Assist with facility preparations & maintain a clean cabin all summer. Perform duties both inside & outside, rain or shine.
The Housing: On-site rustic cabin in the woods, shared with campers aged 8-18.
Wage: $2,400 for the summer (includes $400 travel stipend), plus free room and board
Work Schedules: Typically 6 days on and 1 day off
You must meet the following requirements to participate:
-Be between 18 and 38 years old
-Have an intermediate to advanced level of English
-Have experience as a leader or a passion to share with young participants in the program
You will need a passport valid for travel to the USA that expires AT LEAST 6 months after your last day of work, proof of student status, and proof of financial support.
In most cases, must have at least one year of independent living experience. Must be able to effectively communicate (verbal & non-verbal) with students and other staff. Must be able to work cooperatively with peers and divisional leadership. Must know how to take care of yourself (adequate sleep, activity, nutrition, mental acuity, managing emotions) so that you can take care of others. Must have physical and emotional stamina (this is fun but also hard work!). Must have a commitment to inclusion and acceptance of others. Must be able to think on your feet and manage emerging situations if they arise.
