Lifeguard:
Shallow Water Guards are responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our rides, for the enjoyment of our guests. These employees can work in pools up to 4 feet deep and are also responsible for the cleanliness of their attraction and work area. Shallow Water Guards/First Aid - American Red Cross 8-hour Shallow Water Attendant class is taught in a full day or offered in two 4-hour sections.
Pre-requisite swim test for this position which is as follows:
- 100-yard continuous swim
- 2-minute tread without arms and 20-yard brick retrieval within 50 seconds
Specific duties may include but are not limited to any combination of the following:
- Ensuring guest safety and provide exceptional guest service.
- Standing/sitting in and out of water for long periods of time.
- Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations.
- Inspect facility as required and report any unsafe conditions or equipment.
- Maintaining skills at a rescue-ready level at all times.
- Remain alert and attentive at all times.
- Participate in regular in-service training sessions.
- Maintain professional lifeguarding practices at all times.
- Keep the facilities and property clean and comfortable for guests.
- Attend departmental and team meetings as well as participate in all additional training courses.
- Employees may be asked to move to different locations or job assignments within the property, as needed.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Earn $13 per hour working an average of 32 hours per week.
You must meet the following requirements to participate:
-Be between 18 and 28 years old
-Enrolled full time in a classroom based, post-secondary institution outside of the USA
-Must have completed at least one semester
-Must be proficient in English
You will need a passport valid for travel to the USA that expires AT LEAST 6 months after your last day of work, proof of student status, and proof of financial support.
Additional requirements:
- Alert and strong attention to detail.
- Effective and efficient decision making.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, both in and out of water
- Requires bending, lifting, pushing, climbing, standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in outside elements of heat, humidity, rain and wind
- Outgoing, friendly personalities are best suited for this position.
